Back to basics makeup

After spending about three months not wearing any foundation whatsoever, it’s difficult for me to get back into the autumn makeup. Not that I wear high coverage foundation or two shades of contouring when the leaves start falling, but there is definitely more going on than just mascara.

This is the makeup I have been wearing during my transition into full coverage concealer and darker lipstick. I mean…while I still have a tan and can pull off this look.

Base

This Lancôme skin tint as been my best friend for a quick and easy base when I can’t be bothered to even grab a brush. I just apply it on my face with my hands and it blends beautifully. It has such a light texture that it’s almost imperceptible when applied. If like me combination to oily skin is your concern, it works great – no clogging and no shine. Kudos for the SPF when you’re in a rush and forget to wear sunscreen.

My got-to concealer for can’t-be-arsed days is Glossier stretch concealer, obvs. Light consistency and coverage but blended in the blink of an eye. There is a no brush/blender theme going on if you still haven’t noticed.

Eyes

Now that I can put my waterproof mascara away without fearing looking like a racoon due to extreme heat and humidity, it’s time to try something new. I got the new Nars climax mascara as soon as it hit the shelves and my oh my is it good. Mascara can be a bit tricky because so many people swear by some and then they get all smudgy when we try them. But (at your own risk) you should try this one. Very lengthening and easy to layer, without any clumping or smudging. Also, lasts long though is surprisingly easy to remove.

Lips

Although I wear a nude lip on a daily basis the Fresh sugar lip balm has been a constant on my purse. It has a slight tint which is great on the go and when pocket mirrors are inexistent. Besides it is very hydrating and it feels lush. And look at that packaging! No way you’re going to lose that cap and have lipstick all over.
