Autumn makeup routine

It is Autumn time! Which calls for a revamp on the makeup section. You can check my Spring makeup here, where I used all the light pinks and blushes. But now it is time for deeper tones and bolder lips.

Base

I seldom wear foundation on a daily basis, but when my skin is feeling too dull or I am going out I have been using the Clinique Superbalanced. It has medium coverage and a light texture, great for combination to oily skin. The only downside – the package. It doesn’t have a pump or a spatula-like cap, which makes it a bit messy to use. I may have some foundation spots on my carpet due to my clumsiness, which I intend to blame this packaging for.

On to concealer – this Nars one is the best I have ever tried, and I have really dark under eye circles – so trust me! A bit pricey but totally worth it.

I am not using any blush at the moment because I am still on the hunt for the perfect shade of coral. Either they are too shimmery or too orange-y, so if you have any recommendations I am all hears. For the time being I have been applying some bronzing powder as a light contouring on my cheeks, forehead and jaw. For a bit of glow this Bobbi Brown pencil is so easy to use and perfect for cupid’s bow and under brow highlighting.

Eyes

Glossier boy brow is everyone’s favourite and I am no exception. I never really cared about my brows until I tried this. It is so easy to use and blends nicely, giving an instant natural finish. On weekdays I just go with the Revlon creme eyeshadow, blending it with my finger is really quick and ready to go.

However, when I have more than just a few minutes to spare, I have been loving the Zoeva Taupe palette. The shades are neutral but have a warm and pink undertone. I like to apply stich by stich all over, exquisite on the crease and wrapped in silk in the inner and middle lid. Downside – blending. Some shades can be quite difficult to blend, specially if applying an eyeshadow primer.

For the lashes, I have read great things about L’oreal paradise extatic so decided to give it a go. It lengthens more than it volumises and the wand keeps a lot of the product. A big pro – does not smudge!

Lips

When I went to Sephora in New York, I promised myself I wouldn’t buy tones of superfluous things. But like, I needed this Tarte lipstick okay? It has the perfect autumnal shade and Sephora makes a lip liner that completely matches it. What a win!
