For some of us summer is still coming, i.e. if you live in the UK and still haven’t been on holidays abroad! I am extremely excited as I write this since it is my last official day at the office before holidays. Eeeeeek! So I thought about putting together some suncare essentials that I have been using and will definitely take with me.
Lets start with the bit we are usually careless at the beach – hair. Sure we comb it or put it in a ponytail, I even see ladies washing it with mineral water to take the salt. But, what about sun protection? Especially if we have dyed our hair or made some sun-kissed-look highlights, sun exposure will change the colour (either if it is natural or not) and damage the hair fibre. I got this Schwarzkopf spray last year to spray right before heading to the beach.
As I said before here, my face is as oily as it can get particularly during summer, so I always look for an oil free facial sun cream.
This brilliant La Roche Posay sun cream has been my favourite for ages, ever since I had an allergy due to an extremely rich cream I put on this face. Well moving on from darker days, I can’t get enough of this, first because of its fast absorbent ability and secondly because it is not greasy or heavy on the skin.
On to the body, the most boring part to put on sun protection. Mum if you are reading this, I am sorry for being such a pain and tried to avoid covering myself in sunscreen. Teenagers, eh? At least, I eventually came up to the realisation of how important this laborious task is. UV radiation can lead to sunburn, which can lead to skin cancer. It is a harsh truth, so apply and re-apply because your Ibiza sunburn will not be worth it. I have been using Piz Buin SPF 30 and absolutely love it! Easy to apply, light at touch and it just smells great!
